- How we can help
On-page SEO means making each page clear, relevant and easy to use, so search engines understand what it is about and visitors know what to do next. For a service page, that comes down to a handful of things you can check one by one. Here is a practical checklist.
1. Pick one clear topic for the page
Decide what the page is for and which search it should answer, such as "web design for restaurants". One page, one main topic. If two pages try to cover the same search, they compete with each other. A little keyword research before you write saves a lot of rework.
2. Write a useful page title
The title is what appears in search results. Put the main topic near the front, keep it to around 60 characters so it is not cut off, and add your brand at the end if it fits. Make it read like something a person would want to click.
3. Write a meta description that earns the click
The description sits under the title in results. It does not directly decide rankings, but it influences whether people click. Aim for around 150 to 160 characters, describe the benefit and end with a gentle invitation to act.
4. Use one H1 and a clear heading structure
Each page should have exactly one main heading that matches the page's topic. Use subheadings to break the page into sections, in order, without skipping levels. Someone skimming only the headings should still understand the page.
5. Answer the main question early
Within the first few lines, tell visitors what the service is, who it is for and what to do next. Do not make people hunt for it. Clear, direct answers also make your page easier for search and AI tools to quote.
6. Cover the topic properly
Think about what a customer would want to know before choosing you: what is included, how it works, what the process looks like, who it suits and common questions. Real detail beats padding. Write for people first, in plain language.
7. Add internal links
Link to related pages on your site using descriptive words, not "click here". A service page might link to a related service, a relevant industry page or a helpful article. This helps visitors explore and helps search engines see how your pages connect.
8. Use images properly
- Give meaningful images short, descriptive alt text.
- Compress images and use modern formats so pages load quickly.
- Set image sizes so the page does not jump while loading.
9. Use clean, readable web addresses
A good address is short, lowercase, uses hyphens and describes the page, such as bit-aura.com/services/web-design/. Avoid long strings of numbers or unnecessary words, and avoid changing addresses once they are indexed.
10. Add structured data where it fits
Structured data tells search engines what a page is: a service, an article, a set of questions and answers. Only add it for content that is really on the page, such as a genuine FAQ.
11. Make the next step obvious
A page that ranks but does not lead anywhere does not help the business. Add a clear call to action, such as a contact button or booking link, near the top and again after the main content.
12. Check speed and mobile
Most visitors will arrive on a phone. Check that the page loads quickly and that text, buttons and forms work comfortably on a small screen.

Frequently asked questions
What is on-page SEO?
On-page SEO is the work done on the page itself to make it clear and relevant: the title, description, headings, copy, links, images and structure. It helps search engines understand the page and helps visitors decide to act.
How often should I review my service pages?
A review whenever your offer changes, and a general check at least once or twice a year, keeps pages accurate and competitive. Small updates to copy and links can make a real difference.
Should each page target one keyword?
Each page should have one clear main topic and the search it answers. It will naturally include related words too. Avoid two pages competing for the same search.
